5 Signs Your Scooter Needs CVT Cleaning
Shaking on take-off, slow pick-up or a new noise from the side of the engine? Your scooter's CVT is probably asking for attention.

Automatic scooters like the Click, NMAX, Aerox and PCX use a CVT, or continuously variable transmission, to send power from the engine to the rear wheel. It is simple and smooth when clean, but dust, rubber from the belt and worn rollers build up over time and change how the scooter rides.
1. Shaking when you pull away
A judder or vibration as you open the throttle from a stop is the classic CVT symptom. It usually points to a dirty or glazed clutch and clutch bell.
2. Slow or lazy pick-up
If the scooter feels weaker off the line or takes longer to reach speed, worn rollers or a dirty pulley may not be shifting the belt properly.
3. New noises from the CVT cover
Rattling, whining or scraping from the left side of the engine is worth checking early, before a small problem damages other parts.
4. Lower top speed or worse fuel use
A worn belt can slip, which means more throttle for the same speed and more trips to the gas station.
5. It has never been opened
If you cannot remember the last time the CVT was cleaned, it is due. Dust from daily riding collects inside even when the scooter feels fine.
What CVT cleaning involves
Our technicians check the belt, rollers and clutch, then clean and lubricate the pulley. That fixes most cases of shaking, slow pick-up and noise. Worn parts are shown to you with the price before we replace anything.
CVT cleaning is included in our Premium Scooter PMS (₱1,899 all-in) and our XMAX, ADV350 and Vespa packages. Need CVT work on its own? Ask us for a quote. We also stock CVT upgrades from R1Moto, including springs, flyballs, clutch bells and pulley sets.
